Department "Flag Football" program in the autumn of 1964
" Legally became the Sanford-Springvale Youth Athletic League, Inc. in 1966

" Boy's Midget basketball league was established in 1968
" The Girls Midget basketball League was formed in 1969
" Founded Sanford/Springvale Youth Athletic Association in 1969
" Midget baseball league made its debut during the summer of 1969 and ended in 1999
" The football Cheerleaders were formally organized in 1969
" The Springvale town hall became the home of the SSYAA in April, 1973
" Veteran's park was dedicated on April 27, 1991
" Incorporated as a (501) (c) (3) nonprofit organization in January of 1992
" Girls Field hockey was introduced to the town in the fall of 1994
" Wrestling was formed in 2000.
" Moved out of the SSYAA center and into the Nasson Community Center in 2004
" Girls Lacrosse made its debut in the spring of 2009
