Sanford-Springvale Youth Athletics Association

The SSYAA Field Hockey program has it sign-ups in June and July and practices start in August. Field hockey games are played on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m., 10:15 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. Games run until the first week of November. Players must enter the 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grade in September of the given season and 7th graders will be allowed to play, provided the player does not turn 13 on or before November 1st and/or she does not play for the 7th grade team.  All skill levels are welcome to sign up.

The SSYAA Juniors Football program has it sign-ups in June and July and practices start in August. Games begin the Sunday after Labor Day. Juniors Football games are played on Sunday mornings at 9am and 11am. Games run until the first week of November. Players must be age 7, 8 or 9 years old on or before August 1^st of the current season. Any kids, who don’t fall into the age groups above, may appeal to the board of directors for an exception.

Commioner Juniors Football - Mark Chagnon 

The SSYAA Seniors Football program has it sign-ups in June and July and practices start in August. Beginning in the 2011 the SSYAA Seniors Football program joined the SMYFL league. Games begin the with the SMFYL Pee-Wee Jamboree the weekend after Labor Day and eight regular season games the following weekends.  The Seniors schedule is subject to change with games and some games are played on Saturday nights under the lights.  Players must be age 9, 10, 11 or 12 years old on or before the the first practice in mid-August of the current season. The SSYAA Seniors Football program follows rules as established in the SMYFL By-Laws for Pee-Wee Football.

Girls Lacrosse

The SSYAA girl’s lacrosse program has it sign-ups in February and March. Practices begin in early April and games begin at the end of April. Lacrosse games are played on Sunday late morning/early afternoon. Games run until the end of the school year. Girls must be in the Fifth – Eighth grades. All skill levels are welcome to sign up.
